We are now midway through our 2nd two-year roadmap (2023-2025). Here is an update from our taskforces.

Task Force 2.2 (ASL code contributions) We are currently collecting pipelines and snippets for preprocessing and analysis of ASL data, including other organs outside the brain such as placenta, heart, lung, liver, kidney, spleen, and preclinical imaging. We will be also participating in the google code of summer project to develop automated testing of these pipelines and to translate them to our Python library.

Task force 2.3 (DSC/DCE code contributions) have setup the framework for a standardised, CAPLEX based OSIPI python software package for DSC/DCE processing. Visit https://osipi.github.io/pypi/ [url.au.m.mimecastprotect.com] to explore! We now have code to generate Parker AIF and tissue concentrations using Tofts and Extended Tofts models. Please consider contributing by adding more functionality to the package.  

Task force 2.4 (IVIM code contributions) has been working mainly with the repository infrastructure the last few months to avoid potential future bottle necks. Recently, the first external code contribution was added to the repository. If you have any (python) IVIM code, please consider contributing to our efforts.

Task force 4.2 (DCE/DSC lexicon) We have fully migrated all lexicon items to the CAPLEX website and enabled easy copying of hyperlinks using dedicated clipboard buttons. Many features of the website have been improved including documentation, page and table layout, and search function. We are now working towards developing an approach to encode lexicon items into DICOM parametric maps. 

Task Force 5.2 (Education) We have produced a set of reading lists (bibliographies) aimed at new researchers in the area of perfusion imaging.  The ASL and DSC bibliographies are complete and available and the DCE one in nearing completion.  We are also producing a series of educational videos about the technical aspects of the different perfusion MRI methodologies.  Our target publication date for the first video is April 15th.  We are also working with the “scan with me” (SWIM) initiative on creating a simulation module for perfusion imaging.

Task Force 6.2 (DCE Challenge) are finalizing the design of the numeric phantom and data for the DCE challenge which will be launched at ISMRM in Singapore.
