OSIPI has participated now for two times in the Google Summer of Code (GSoC) program (2024 and 2025). Google Summer of Code is an online program that supports junior software developers to contribute to open source software development. Although many resources have been developed within OSIPI, they are still in a preliminary state. Our current goal is to make these resources more accessible and user-friendly for anyone who wants to work with perfusion imaging. This requires the input from various professions, from imaging scientists to physicians to software engineers. Currently, our community consists predominantly of scientists and clinicians. By joining GSoC, we aim to expand our talent pool with some of the brightest summer students that can help solve the software-technical challenges we are having, such that the OSIPI software works easier, more robustly and more user-friendly.

In 2024, four brilliant contributors were matched to OSIPI. We were really happy with the results. Check out their reports below if you want to know what they have achieved!

This motivated us to participate again in 2025. Since May, five contributors are working on a variety of projects. Once they are finished, we will publish their results here. Get in touch if you are interested in projects for next years!
